Such a scary experience! My new for Friday was one of the strangest I've ever had!
So Friday, I'm looking on Craigslist, and I look under the stuff listed as Free just to see if I can find anything good. Well I did stumble upon something, a free TV! Some people have some crap and they just don't feel like moving it or hauling away so they'll put it on Craigslist to get people to come and get it.
Well this lady was preggers and she was moving and she didn't wanna mess with her TV, so she had it out in front of her house for anyone to come pick it up. I will! I will! The directions to her house aren't that difficult and it isn't that far away. So off I go, to find a new free TV!
I'm on my way, I make a couple of turns and I don't really know where I am. The last turn is on this street called Roundabout Hill. Well first off, it isn't paved at all which is a little sketchy, and then I am trying to get my car up the loose gravel hill and it was not easy! It was super bumpy and gravel was going everywhere and I even had to switch from 2nd gear to 1st. Then I actually made it! I was relieved.
Then I had to actually find the house. The number was 122. I kept passing all these weird numbers that were in no order at all. Like 310 then 224 then 350. And all the houses looked weird and run down. Then I got to were the road technically ended and someone's driveway started. I nearly slammed on my breaks. The entrance to the driveway had all these scary signs! "KEEP OUT", "DEAD END", "NO TRESPASSING". and then there was one that said "GO AWAY, WARNING! OLD HERMIT WITH SCOPE", and then it had a butt tally of 16! It was so scary! I turned right around, after I took a picture:)
And then I was trying to bust my butt on outta there and all these dogs came out of no where and surrounded my car! They were barking and weren't letting me go! I had to inch my way out and then I hit the gas and they were still chasing after me! And then I had to go back down that hill, but it wasn't as difficult as going up.
Welp, I didn't find a TV. Or even the house for that matter. Craigslist is super sketchy. I was just expecting some creepy old man to pop up out of no where and drag me back to his house by my hair. I won't ever do that "new" again.

Finished Tree!
I'm done! I'm done! For today's "new" I'm finally done! I've worked and had my room in shambles and I'm finally done.
I'm very happy with the finished product, things can always look better but I'm happy with how it turned out. If you have no idea what I am talking about, that means you haven't read some previous posts of mine. Well let me give you a brief summary. So my Dad is demolishing the house I am living in to expand his business, I know selfish right? So now I feel like I can do anything I want to this house because is getting torn down.
So I saw this picture in a magazine of this salon that was real earthy and organic looking and they had this tree on the wall that was made out of scrapes of wood and it looked awesome! "I can do that!" I had thought out loud. And I did:)
I had a couple of better angles but they wouldn't load for some reason. Awesome huh? Enjoy! Let me know if you want me to build on on your wall:) I'm always willing!

Running in the Rain!
What a grand Tuesday "new" I had! Singin' in the Rain? Been there, done that. Running in the rain? Bring it on!
I had been planning to do this new for a while now, but it just had to be perfect timing. Well tonight was perfect! I was in the process of cleaning my room and I was going to finish my tree finally, when it started raining super hard! Well this is just perfect! I haven't run in a while and it's just perfect weather!
I know what you're thinking, "You've never run in the rain before? Everyone's run in the rain! Just to get out of it!" Well just hold your horses for a second. Yes, throughout my whole life span, I have before run in the rain; but I have never specifically went out into the rain to go for a run. See? Do you get it now?
Anyways, so I did a little stretch and off I went! All I was running was down Timberlake to the Koffee Cup place. It wasn't very far. I felt amazing though! I don't know what it was, the rain just made it all so good! So much better then normal. It made me want to go as fast as I could possibly go. And what made it even more of an adventure was how dark it was. I started running at 9 in the P.M. And where I was running there weren't many street lights, so I basically stayed in the grass so I wouldn't get hit, and I ran through a LOT of puddles.
The whole run was just wild! From the rain, to the puddles, to the cars flying at me, to the music, to the darkness; all of the elements just fused together to create the ultimate experience!
I am now planning on going for a run every time it storms, no matter what I am doing. Have I gotten you excited about going for a run at all? Even when it's nice and dry? You should give it a try! It'll work wonders for you;)

Japanese Noodles
Well you know you're running out of food when you turn to weird Japanese noodles to eat. When I went to the oriental store the other day I had picked up these noodles so I could eat them with the left over sauce I had. And so for my Monday's "new" I experienced the flavor of these Japanese type of noodles.
They were packed in a way that separated different servings. If I only wanted a serving just for me, I'd cook one bundle, and if I was cooking for two or just extremely hungry, I'd cook two bundles, maybe three... Anyways, I decide I was just one bundle hungry, but there were no directions so I wasn't sure how to cook them exactly. So I just assumed to do it the same way I would cook spaghetti. So I get the water in the pot, put it on the stove, and turn it on. I'm careful not to watch it either so it'll start boiling right.
The noodles themselves aren't very long and they are extremely thin, so thin in fact that as soon as I put them in the boiling water, they were almost done cooking. It only took a couple of minutes until they were done all the way. It was weird watching it boil because the noodles were so thin that it almost looked like I was cooking hair. They were thinner than even angel hair pasta.
When it was done, I didn't want to put it in a strainer because the noodles would've gone through. So instead, I just tipped the pot with the lid still on to get all the water out. Mistake. It was working fine at first and then I tried to open it a little more to get the last of the water out and I lost it and all of the noodles came plop out into the sink. I was so sad! I hate when I work hard for food and I look forward to eating it and then it just falls on the floor or the dog gets it. Well I just did not want to make it again! So here's my logic, I figure it was boiling water that I had poured out into the sink, and boiling hot water must kill all the germs that was in the sink. Plus the dishes had just been washed so there was just soup in there to kill the germs too. So I just scooped it up and put it in a bowl ( I was going to put it on a plate but my roommate had brought up the very good point that if I put it on a plate, as soon as I whipped around with it, the noodles would probably go flying off my plate onto the kitchen floor; and I haven't developed much logic yet for picking up stuff from that floor).
I was then again disappointed because I found out that my roommate had thrown away the Alfredo sauce I was going to use. She was cleaning out the fridge and it was supposedly passed the expiration date, but it was still good! I had just eaten some. But I'm not complaining because she did clean the fridge out and that was very much needed, so thank you Dominica:) I used marinara sauce instead.
My first bite . . . very good! I was pleased. The noodles were super thin and they tasted a little teeny bit different then normal spaghetti. It almost had a romen noodle taste to it. I just ate it all up, and it did not taste the least bit like a sink. I will definitely be eating it again, mostly just because I had no money for anything else:)
Here are some other funny Japanese things I found when I was looking for pictures.

Liberty's Phantom
My Sunday "new" was AMAZING!
I absolutely love Phantom of the Opera. I have seen it on Broadway, last month I saw it at E.C. Glass High School, they did a fabulous job btw, and on Sunday I got to see my college, Liberty University put it on. It was fabulous, and I'm not just saying it!
Every single person's voice was just amazing; all of them are so talented! If I am comparing to E.C. Glass, Liberty's acting and voices were much better! But I like Glass's sets better. Bottom line between the two is Glass has got the money and space, Liberty has the talent. Liberty did do well with their sound and utilizing the space they had.
My favorite part is when the phantom sees Christine and Raoul singing love stuff together on the roof and then the Phantom comes out all sad and then he screams, "YOU WILL CURSE the day you did not do, all that the Phantom asked of YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun!" Broadway was probably the best I've seen of this line done.
And then my other favorite part was at the end when Christine kissed the Phantom and then she leaves and he's all sad and then she comes back to give him the ring back and he sings so softly, "Christine, I love you." And she just looks at him and leaves! I cry every time, it's so beautiful I can hardly stand it!
I should really watch the movie again. Gerard Butler plays the Phantom, not that great of a singer, but he pulls off a great Phantom. I would've chosen him instead of Raoul for sure. Who doesn't like a little bad?
This is my first favorite part, I couldn't find my other favorite, this girl actually mixed the broadway's cast voices to the movie voices(start at 5:25)

Puma Shoes
Now I will continue catching up and cover my Saturday's "new."
I have some really awesome shoes. Most of my shoes are, but I have one pair in particular that are pretty awesome. They are green and yellow Puma sneakers. I actually found them at a thrift store (what have I been telling you! Thrift stores are the way to go!) and I have had them for years. They just so happen to match perfectly with my work uniform at Hillcats Baseball stadium. They have almost become my trademark there. I wear them most of the time I work.
I usually get comments on them too, that's probably half the reason I wear them. Well, on Saturday I had an adamant fan of my shoes. It was on the verge of ridiculousness. I have never had anyone obsess over my shoes like that in my whole life.
He started out with an "I really like your shoes," to "Oh my goodness I just love your shoes so much! I need them. All I own pretty much is Puma. I have over twenty pairs of Pumas!" And his wife was there to vougg for him and his obsession. All I could do was smile and laugh and nod my head and make little comments like; "Really?", "Oh wow", "That's so funny!"
There was something else that made the whole situation even stranger. This guy looked uber familiar. He had a son too which is what made everything click in my head. I used to work at the YMCA lifeguarding (worst job I ever had) and this guy used to come in with his son and play with him! I remember because he was one hott dad. Really! And now he was obsessing over my shoes! What a small world.
I came to the conclusion if I had asked if he wanted to buy them, he would've said yes. But I also came to the conclusion that I probably wouldn't sell them for anything less a grand. They are very unique shoes! You won't find anything else in the world like them:)
and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
Barn Party
Well, here I go again! catching up on my "news" for the weekend:) I shall start with Friday then.
What a butt load of fun my Friday "new" was! So I have this friend Luke, who you could pretty much say that music is his life. So he loves my house and wanted to have kinda a house party/band thing in my house. Meaning he wanted to play with some people in my house and invite a butt load of people. Basically just for fun. Shoot, I'm down!
The plans changed somehow and instead of it being at my house, it was now at a random barn. Well okay, I didn't care too much because my dad would probably have had a problem with it anyways. Good deal.
I had asked off that day to begin with because I thought it was going to be at my house, but now I had no obligation and something came up so I wasn't planning on going anymore. But then my plans got cut short, so on the way home I decided on the spur of the moment to go. They hadn't started playing so it was a good opportunity to head over there. I put the address in my phone and it really was in a weird location. When I started getting closer I saw a lot of cars parked, so I parked and when I turned my car off I heard the music coming from the woods somewhere, but still kind of far away.
I was really hesitant to start walking in the dark to where I thought the sound was coming from, and then this car came driving out of the woods and I hid behind another car because I didn't want them to see me! That would be awkward. But now I knew there was a path where people were driving their cars closer, but I still couldn't decide if I should or not. I would start walking into the woods then I would walk back to my car, then I would turn around; I literally did that four times. I was embarrassed for myself. Finally, I decided to drive my car. I still don't know if that was a mistake or not. There was a path at first and then I was just driving in a field and the grass was up to my windows. My car was not built for this. But I found all the other cars and drove towards the light and it turned out fine after about a minute of bumpy, crazy chaos.
When I walked up to the barn, there was a girl collecting money, oh gosh, I didn't have anything. She said some people paid and some didn't, it was all going towards a girl in the band who was taking a mission trip around the world or something. Well, if I had had money I would've given her some but I really didn't have anything on me, I felt bad. When I walked in I saw a pretty good crowd. I stood in the back next to a bunch of strangers. I didn't recognize anyone at all. Just Luke on the drums.
It was really good! They playing cover songs and I think just one original, maybe two. Everyone in it played awesome and I have never seen someone get so into it so much in my whole life as Luke did. CRAZY! It was so awesome, I loved it.
I moved around the other side of the crowd to get a little better view and I took a couple videos. I stood next to this guy who was one of the tallest people I have ever stood next to in my life. And weirdly enough I ended up eating waffles with him afterwards along with others (other people in general, not just other tall people).
Anyways, everything was awesome, the barn was awesome, everything was dark, but they had cool lights strung up and there was a lot of dust and dirt; which pretty much only added to the awesomeness of it all. There was a pretty good audience too, not too awkward and really diggin' what was being laid down.
On the last song, they told us to make a circle and do a mosh pit, but pretty much boys were jumping in and running into each other and being crazy and dust was flying everywhere! I'm glad that stuff doesn't bother my eyes or anything. They tore up the stage too and Luke through his drums everywhere, it was really funny.
I hung around a little bit while they were cleaning up, I knew the sound guy too turns out. They all wanted to go to Waffle House and I went with them because I was super hungry. I ended a good night enjoying some good chocolate chip waffles with some good company. That's always a great way to end the night:)
