Fourth of July

The Fourth of July! The celebration of our country’s independence! It was a bigger deal when we were little. It was almost like a family reunion because we would all go to a lake and eat and swim, it was a grand old time! But ever since we moved and got old, we didn’t really do much.
So my big plans for the day were to sleep in and then go to work at night. Well, my sleep got interrupted by my dad calling and telling me that they were going to see a parade and told me to get up and dressed real quick if I wanted to go. I decided I should go, I’d never seen a Fourth of July parade before, just Christmas. As soon as I got to my parents house, I jumped in their car and off we went. We were a little late getting there but it hadn’t started yet. We parked and had to speed walk passed everyone before it started. I had Jack, my puppy with me so I felt like I was part of the parade with him. When I walked by, everyone was ooing and aweing at him. Then we found a little picnic table, a little farther back from the road, but we were able to see pretty well.
It was a pretty good parade, not terrible, but what was really missing was music. There was only one really small band and they weren’t very good. There weren’t even any drums. There were a long line of really cool cars that went by, and my dad knew about each one. I knew he knew about cars, but even I was impressed. My favorite part was when this peach farm truck went by and they were handing out peaches! A little boy came by and gave us some, it wasn’t the best peach, in fact it was really hard, but it was still goodJ We also got a balloon which I tied to Jack Jack’s collar, he only got scared a couple times. Parades are always a lot of fun! I am definitely a fan and I will always take my future kids to see them and they will love it!

And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

Dog Chasing

My new for Sunday I actually saved a life!
I went out with my friend Alyssa and had seen a movie with her and her work friends. After the movie had gotten out, I gave her a ride home. After I dropped her off I started on my way again. I was driving down this semi busy road, but since it was late at night it wasn’t busy, then I saw something. It was a speck on the road at first, and then as I was driving closer it turned into a squirrel, then a cat, then a dog! It was a really small dog running up and down the road chasing and barking at cars! What the heck was it doing out in the road?! This thing was going to get hit! I had to do something.

There wasn’t anyone on the road, so I swung my car around real quick and put my hazards on and stopped in the middle section. The dog had started chasing my car, but as soon as I opened the door and jumped out, it turned around and started running away. “Come back!” I yelled, “I’m only trying to help!” I started running after this thing. I didn’t really have a plan if I had actually caught it, but I knew I needed to.
Well it started running up this driveway and I followed it. It ran through this big gate that was open and across the yard. So I just figured it was running home after all. I didn’t want to follow it anymore, especially since it was in the middle of the night in people’s backyards, I could foresee the police lights. So I just shut the gate and snuck back down the driveway to my car. I like to think I really did save that little dog’s lifeJ

You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog into the house of the LORD your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are an abomination to the LORD your God.

Feather Hair Extensions

One of the most annoying things I have ever tried to order offline. This whole thing had been happening all week but finally done and put to rest on Saturday.
So if you aren't in the loop and you don't know, feather hair extensions are extremely hot right now. Celebrities are wearing them, a lot of people in California, Texas and up North.

If you are unfamiliar with what these extensions are, its either goose or rooster feathers that have been dyed in different colors and then they’re attached to your hair with this clip thing so it won’t come out for months/until you take it out yourself. They are super cute and pretty! You can even wash, blow dry and curl it without it messing up at all. Well Lynchburg is finally catching up, and other salons have them now, so we must get these extensions!

It just so happens that a couple of months ago my roommate had gotten some sent to her from her cousin who works with the people who manufacture them. Small world. Anyways, she asked me to ask my boss if wanted to order some for the shop and I did, but she didn’t want to. But now that they were becoming more and more popular, so we need them! So I texted my roommate to find her cousin’s website so we can order some.

The website is called finefeatherheads.com, and it was a really nice site! They had a lot of different options. But before you are allowed to buy anything, you have to apply and then they approve it and then you can buy stuff. I was still texting my roommate at this time and she was texting her cousin for me, I have major connections. Her cousin approved us right away for me so we would be able to buy stuff right when they went on sale. Apparently they sell out really quick, just as soon as they go on sale.
After we got approved I looked on the site and they were all almost sold out! It was craziness, this crap really is popular. The ones that were left were still good but they were exactly the ones we wanted and they were also more expensive than we had anticipated. So now I had to find them somewhere else. I must have looked at a thousand websites. They’re only feathers! These shouldn’t be that hard to get, I mean really. We would find a site and like the ones they had and then come to find out, they’re sold out as well. Great.
Then a thought occured to me. Etsy! It’s a huge website that people sell crafts and handmade vintage stuff on. It’s really awesome! Surly there’d be feathers on there! And my instincts were dead on! There were lots and lots! But I had to even go through that site for a while to find some ones that we wanted. When I found a good amount, we finally actually bought them! I was so happy and relieved to finally find them. It made my day.

We should get them within the next week and I can’t wait to put one of them things in my hair! After looking at thousands of pictures of them, I know it is going to look real cute in my hairJ
If you too are interested in getting one in your hair as well, call me at the salon! It is Before and After Hair Designs on Timberlake Rd. (434)238-5166.

Scooter for Sale

I am selling my scooter! It has done me well, but I have moved on and I am getting over it!

I got the scooter brand new last year for $1,000. It is a burnt orange and gray and the name on it is "Adventure." And I certainly have had some adventures. One that comes to mind was this time I was riding my scooter at school. Class had just gotten out and I was turning my iPod on and putting the headphones in my ears. I put my helmet on and started her up.

I started going out of the parking lot and had to wait because of all the thousand college children in the road. Well this guy on his motorcycle pulls up next to me and starts talking to me. Well, I could barely hear this guy because the music was so loud in my ears. He said something about liking my bike and then he kept asking me other things, but all I kept saying was, "what?!" And then I would just smile and nod. I wanted him to go away, but he wasn't getting the hint. Then he asked if I'd ever been on a real bike before, and I said "Yeah, with my boyfriend." He didn't say anything and just rolled away from me. Worked like a charm:)

Another adventure I had was a time when I was riding along minding my on business when this girl cut me off and almost hit me! I got so incredibly mad. At the next stop light I yelled at her. I had never been so mad at a complete stranger before, I'd never really yelled at anyone like that either. I don't really remember what I had said, but the gist of it was that she needed to pay attention! It was a thrill full out yelling at someone like that. She just said she was sorry and rolled up her window.

But anyways, I would just like to point out the fact that everything is more exciting on two wheels. I have had many other adventures on this bike and I hope I will be able to sell it soon, so its next owner will have a great many adventures as I have! If you or someone you know would be interested, please contact me!

Dark Walk

Well today's new was a little scary, but fun:)

All I do is work work work, all the day long. My only free time is usually just late at nights. If I ever want to do anything with my any of my friends, it always has to be late. Well I really enjoy seeing my friends, and Alyssa in particular is a great one to pass time with.

I informed her that Starbucks was open until 11 so we decided to go there for a while. Well, turns out it closes at ten and it's only on weekends they’re open later. So instead we decided to run through the McDonalds drive-through and then go to my old high school to walk the track there.

First of all, I didn't even know that the track was open that late, and second, it was kinda odd to just go over there for no reason, but there was nowhere else to go, so what the heck.

At McDonalds I got a snack wrap and a small latte. Snack wrap was good, latte was not. It tasted like iced milk with a couple drops of coffee, nasty. When we pulled up to the school, I was surprised to find quite a few cars were there. There were a couple people playing with a soccer ball, a couple people jogging, a machine running, and some people just sitting down on the grass. Randomly enough I knew half the people there. It was really strange. The few people I talked to, I had gone to high school with, it was kind of awkward to say the least. They were the type that you were friends with, but never thought to ever see again.

We went around the track a couple times, Jack pooped on the track, I cleaned it up and we kept on walking. It was good quality time I must say! I quite enjoyed myself. After we didn’t feel like walking anymore, we just stood by our cars and talked for a while. It was super late by that time and there were still two more people who came and started walking. I mean, I’m talkin midnight. People are weird.

But I got home about 1 thirty. I didn’t realize how late it had gotten! I’ve learned a couple of things from this dark walk. Number one, you have to be careful with time because you don’t have the sun up telling you it’s getting later and you don’t want to be walking around in the dark for too long. Number two, always go with a buddy and be aware of the people around you. Number three, don’t get stolen into the dark. If you follow these rules you should be just fine and dandy walking in the dark!

So you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him.

It would take FOREVER to write about all my “news” for the past week and a half. So…I just decided…that…I wouldn’t… Now listen, don’t get mad at me, I haven’t abandoned my project, I still did a new every day, I just don’t feel like writing so much about each one. Ketchup

Monday
One of the best “news” I have done so far!
Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places in the whole world. I love the environment and basically everything they have there. Books, music, movies and coffee! I can really get stuff done here if I really need to. Whenever I have a huge project or test I usually live there for a couple of days. But whenever I have nothing to do and I’m bored I love to come.
Well today I had nothing to do until work at Hillcats that night, so I decided to go. I really needed to catch up on my reading. I love the feeling I get as soon as I walk through those huge glass doors. The smell of the books mixed with the aroma of coffee and the soft music playing is enough to make me want to stay forever! I knew I did not want to go to work tonight, Barnes and Noble needed me to stay! So I got someone to cover my shift so I could stayJ I was so happy.
So for the next 7 hours I stayed happily in bliss at Barnes and Noble. Only once did I walk out of the store to get a little warmer. There are two downfalls of Barnes and Noble, it is always cold and there is only one outlet in the whole store that customers can use. I didn’t need the outlet, but I did need some warmth. But I’m pretty sure that seven hours is a record for me. I’ve stayed for long periods of times before, but I don’t think this long. It didn’t feel that long at all. I wanted to stay longer. The most dreaded words to hear at Barnes and Noble are “Attention Barnes and Noble customers, Barnes and Noble books, music and cafĂ© will be closing in approximately 30 minutes”, “15 minutes”, “5 minutes”, “We are closed”, and then of course someone has to come tell me to leave, and then after I cry for five minutes I leave. Well maybe that last part isn’t true, but I am sad when I have to go. But after I leave the bookstore, I usually feel a sense of accomplishment, like my day wasn’t wasted or anything.

Exodus 24:7
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient."

Tuesday

Unfortunately I had to go back to work today, so no Narnes and Boble for me. So sad.
My “new” today happened at work at the baseball stadium. For some reason I had gotten there early and it’s a good thing I did too because there was a double header(that means two baseball games instead of just one because one got rained out) and no one knew it! Nobody told us there was a double header and when I had gotten there early I was already late. I was the first one there and there were already people up in the skyboxes. Two were filled when I got there and then another arrived shortly after.
Then when the other two servers finally arrived we split up the remaining of the boxes and I ended up with 5. I haven’t had that many this season yet. It’s a rare occasion when you do have that many, but it does happen. Needless to say my night was crazy, but pretty fast. I kept forgetting about one of my boxes because I wasn’t used to having that many, but it was okay, they didn’t get all that much.
I ended up with good tips at the end of the night and a great recipe for pound cake! I’d call that a great night! Although I’d rather not have this new happen again please. Thank you!
 Exodus 9:32
But the wheat and the emmer were not struck down, for they are late in coming up.

Wednesday

Sometimes when I’m driving home and I’m really hungry, it’s so hard for me to drive by a McDonalds and not stop to get anything. It is just so cheap and good! Why not stop?
Anyways that was my logic when I stopped by on my way home this night. Well apparently I live next to the slowest mcdonalds in the whole entire world. I have never in my life waited so long at a drive through in my life. I have no idea what was going on in there, but this was ridiculous. And it was 10 thirty at night! What in the world? They should not be this slow. I was waiting in the DRIVE THROUGH for about 20 minutes. That is just plain silly. People were parking and going in and sitting down and eating and leaving before I got through. And I couldn’t just park and go in and out because I had Jack Jack with me and he would’ve caused a commotion if I left him in the car and he probably would’ve gotten stolen too. So we had to sit in the drive through while I had to calm Jack down because there was a black cat sitting and staring at him. I guess he thinks his barking will bring the cat closer or that he will just die if he doesn’t get the chance to go smell him out.
When we finally got through the line, I was about to ask the girl what the heck was going on but thought she had  been trying to explain for a while now, so I’d give her a break, and turns out they upgraded my drink and fries. Oh how nice! Not that I needed them too, but I think it resolved our issueJ
Psalm 69:3
I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dimwith waiting for my God.

Thursday

I just had the biggest printer fail of my whole life.
I went to my dad’s office to get some stuff done for more FASFA crap and I also had to print out some stuff for a lingerie party I was doing the next day.
I had this one scattegories game that I had to print 30 copies out of. Then I had looked up a couple other games I was going to do. But instead of creating a new document to put these games on, I just cut out the other game I had already printed and put these new ideas on it. Then I just hit print, but instead of it printing just one copy, it started printing 30 copies of three pages of game ideas. This was not good! It was printing out of this fancy shmancy printer with a screen and I kept hitting stop and trying to cancel it, but it wouldn’t let me! The only thing it would let me do is cancel each document one by one. That would take forever! I tried stopping it from the computer too, but I couldn’t figure it out. This was ridiculous, it would not stop!
It just kept spittin out pages of a goddess game and sexy names for name tags, I just kept trying to tear them up and throw them away so no one would see them. That would be awkward. Anyways I just ended up leaving it pending and never finishing printing, I don’t know what else to do. It was a weird situation. I just hope it doesn’t start printing out the rest of them when someone else goes to print something else out. Oh well:)
Joshua 21:45
Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.

Friday

STRESS! That’s all I need to say about this “new.”
My friend was getting married tomorrow and we were having her bachelorette party/lingerie party that night and I was in charge of games. Little did I know I would also be in charge of decorations and hosting as well.
I had to work all day and I still had to get a few more things for the games before the rehearsal. I thought I would call the other girls and make sure they had all their stuff together before tonight so that I could be at peace that everything was going to go smoothly. Well things got mixed up and I started worrying and going crazy because I just waited everything to go so smoothly for Megan!
Well it did turn out rather well! For the first time I had been a real hostess at a lingerie party, I did pretty good:) If I had known I was actually going to be the hostess, I would’ve been a little more prepared. I had fun games that we played and funny name tags we all had to wear like “Bootylicious” or “Sexy Bomb” or “Hot Lips”, and we had to call each other by those names and nothing else! I was Cuddle Bunny, it suited me.
