Hotdog Lady

My new of this day wasn't planned, but just happened, which is how I hope a lot of this year goes.

I was working as usual and always, and my boss wants a Mountain Dew, so I go next door to the gas station to get one(because I'm such a great receptionist). Now before I walked in an old lady was walking in too, so I open the door for her and we exchange "thanks" and "your welcomes" and grateful smiles as normal.
Then I go and get the Dew and this old lady is just walking over and looking a little confused, so I ask her if she needs any help, "I want a hot dog," she says. "Okay," says I, "I'll get it for you." So I go on to get the bun and I put the hot dog on it and this lady asked me to put on this nasty combination of condiments. Now I've worked at a baseball stadium for 6 years, and this did not look the least bit appetizing. She wanted coleslaw, mustard and these chopped onions that came in a package. Then I asked if she wanted a drink and she said no but asked me where she needed to pay for it and I pointed at the clerk in the front. She didn't know that I didn't work there and was pleasantly surprised when she found out. After she paid for her hot dog with coleslaw, mustard and packaged onions, I paid for my Dew and told her to have a good day and we went our separate ways.
I don't mean to toot my own horn, but it just feels good to help an old lady with a hot dog! Spread the love:)
I just hope this she has loving family to drive home to. She probably shouldn't be driving though, she could barely walk. But I won't get in to how I feel about the elderly behind the wheel, I will just leave it at the hot dog lady driving away into the sunset.

Leviticus 19:32
“‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.
